The President’s Foreword
Warm greetings to you all.
I am very proud and honored to have been elected as your President for the 2025 season.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my club, Thanet Bowls Club for nominating and supporting me, Herne Bay Bowls Club for seconding me and Borstal Bowls Club for giving me my initial love for the game of bowls and the excitement of entering the County and National competitions.
In addition, to Margaret, the Past Presidents and the Executive Officers for welcoming me and giving me so much help and support. Also, to all those players in the many games I played in, or watched, who welcomed me, and to Peter, my husband, who has made this possible with his continued help and support, thank you.
To the John’s, the Walker and the Amy Rose I wish you further success in this coming season of changes.
I look forward to the coming season with great excitement and will endeavour to follow in the footsteps and uphold the standards that previous Lady Presidents laid down. It seems that the next years will bring quite a number of changes to how the sport of bowls is organized. I will do my best in working with Di and the Ladies Executive to try to see that these changes are to the benefit of all players irrespective of age or ability.
My chosen charity for this year is Greenbanks Care Trust, a local charity supporting Learning Disabled Adults to live happy and fulfilled lives.
I wish you all good health, enjoyable bowling for the 2025 season, and look forward to meeting a lot of existing and new friends during this coming year.
Claudia Carey
President 2025
